Paul Cardan was of course a pseudonym for Cornelius Castoriadis. In fact, in many political groupings outside France, "Paul Cardan" was much better known than Cornelius Castoriadis. As far as I know, Castoriadis used different pseudonyms for different purposes. Paul Cardan seems to be one for political writings with a rather wide appeal. I am sure there is much more to be said about the different pseudonyms he used.
